Mike Jenkins could not fly to London to attend his daughter’s wedding
because he had to stay in the hospital. Having two heart attacks and a
surgery days before the ceremony prevented him from being physically
present and celebrate with the newlyweds. However, his condition did not
stop him from witnessing his child exchange vows with the man she
loves. Wearing a suit and tie in Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI, Mike
watched as his daughter Kelly tie the knot. How it was done? His wife
Jan, used an iPad to live stream the entire event.
Hospital staff were also supportive of Mike’s intent to see his
daughter wed so much so that they decorated his room and brought in cake
and sparkling juice to amp up the mood. It was truly a tear-jerking
sight.
Kelly also plans to redo the ceremony so that her father would be
able to attend. “Of course, I’d rather be there in person…But like I
told Kelly, ‘You want to hear God laugh? Tell him your plans.” Mike
Jenkins said. Watch the video and see the heartfelt moment and yourself.
