Alden Richards receives a gift from Maine Mendoza on her birthday celebration as he was able to kiss her on the lips.
MANILA, Philippines – Alden Richards’ tease to kiss Maine Mendoza on the lips finally happened on Maine’s birthday celebration.
On Saturday, Maine had a birthday special on “Eat Bulaga!” and this is when the kiss on the lips happened.
After giving his message, Alden kissed Maine on the side of her lips. Jose Manalo then teased him saying, “Ituloy mo na, birthday naman,” which elicited cheers from the crowd.
After some more prodding from everyone, Alden quickly kissed Maine on the lips which surprised the birthday celebrant and made everyone cheer.
Aside from the special kiss, Alden also gave Maine several gifts based on the letters of her name.
First is a medallion of Saint Benedict for her protection, an “alaga” which is a pair of love birds, an illustration of him and Maine forming a heart with their hands, a notebook that will serve as her journal, and a special gift which he says is “for your eyes only.”
“’Pag handa ka na ako magsusuot nito sa ‘yo,” he added.
On his birthday message, Alden also assured Maine that he’ll always support Maine despite the “destructors” who are trying to tear them apart.
“Alam ko marami tayong destructors. Minsan dahil sa mga destructors na ‘yon pati tayo hindi nagkakaintindihan,” he said. “Gusto ko sabihin sa iyo na lahat gagawin ko, mga wish mo, wish mo sa akin, wish mo sa ating dalawa, gagawan ko ng paraan ‘yan, Maine.”
“Tsaka kahit nasaan ka pa darating ako. Happy birthday, Maine,” he concluded.
