Shreya Darji, 12, living in Deesa, Gujarat, Western India, has reportedly over a thousand huge ants taken out from her ear drum canal. Doctors were amazed when the girl was checked August last year. Live giant ants were found residing inside the young lady's ear.
Here is a screenshot of a video when doctors were removing the ants from her ear:
Medical practitioners had removed hundreds of dead and live ants, but they can't cease them from breeding. Hence, ants continuously reside in Shreya's ear.
The young girl's parents said that they already sought all possible solutions, including faith healers, but no one has completely resolved the issue. Her father, Sanjay Darji, was truly terrified with his daughter's situation. According to him: ‘I have done everything I can. I have taken her to the best doctors, but they have failed to solve the problem. I just hope things get better.'
'I’m worried about her future and how this will affect her studies. She is a brilliant child and she’s already missed a lot of school. Other children in her school and community are teasing her and it’s already making her feel bad. I need this problem cured as quickly as possible before it affects her confidence in life.’
Surprisingly, the young lady does not feel any pain in spite of her strange situation. Dr. Jawahar Talsania, Senior ENT (ears, nose, throat) surgeon in Gujarat stated: ‘We have conducted all possible scans on the child including an MRI and CT scan but they are all normal. We cannot find any abnormality in her ears.'
Furthermore, her ears, including the inner parts, are all normal.
Here is a video from an endoscopic camera capturing live ants being taken out from her ear:
Dr. Jawahar tried to suffocate and drown the ants with ear drops, but they continued to breed. He admitted that this is one of the rarest medical conditions he's handled. ‘We don’t believe the ants are laying eggs inside the ear as we've not spotted a queen ant inside. We are completely perplexed,’ he said.
The lady's situation is very strange. The effects on her studies and personal life make it harder to endure. We are hoping for her recovery soon. She deserves to live a normal and healthy life.
