A farmer caught a snake while he was managing the rice straw. He was shocked to see the snake there, but he was more surprised when he saw that the snake has legs.
A veterinarian said that it is possible that the snake underwent an abnormal development, while still inside the egg, and that it is an extremely rare occurrence.
According to Discovery, "Snakes lost their legs by growing them more slowly or for a shorter period of time until the legs eventually disappeared.". "If something is not useful it can regress without any impact on the (animal's) survival, or regression can even be positive, as for here if the leg was a disturbing a kind of locomotion, like for burrowing snakes or swimming snakes," lead author Alexandra Houssaye told Discovery News.
Snakes are already scary enough without legs. What do you guys think?
